Jules Beckman is an American interdisciplinary performing artist and teacher living in France since 2002.  He has been making work collaboratively, teaching, and touring steadily in contemporary dance, performance and new circus since 1987.   Work experience includes: Collectif AOC/ Karin Vyncke (2009-'13); co-founding libertivore with Fanny Soriano (2005); I.D.A./Mark Tompkins (2005-'08); Cahin-caha, cirque batard (1998-2005); Lhasa De Sela (1999-2000); Core/Jess Curtis, Keith Hennessy, Stanya Kahn and Stephanie Maher (1995-'98); Contraband/Sara Shelton Mann (1987-'95); Anna Halprin (sporadically, 1990-'96); Zaccho/Joanna Haigood (1996-'98); Circo Zero/K. Hennessy (1987-?).

As of winter 2012, Beckman's collaborations include ninteen full-evening original works and several shorter pieces.  He has taught in studio, festival, and university settings throughout the US, Europe, Russia, Mexico and Japan.
